Shantaia's Story
Three time SCMA award winner Shantaia is a Nashville based singer/songwriter who was born and raised in the tiny town of Spiritwood, Saskatchewan. Showcasing powerful and striking vocals, Shantaia’s voice, much like her name, is unforgettable. Shantaia has opened for names such as; Kane Brown, Midland, Lonestar, Chris Lane, Ryan Hurd, Emerson Drive, and has shared festival stages with Tyler Childers, Hailey Whitters and more.
Shantaia has played festivals all over Canada, including most recently, main stage at Cavendish Beach Music Festival, Boots and Hearts, Dauphins Country Fest, Country Thunder Sask, Calgary Stampede, and North by North East. Getting her feet wet in the U.S. Shantaia has played Americana Fest, Key West Songwriters Festival, Whiskey Jam, CMT Next Women x Song Suffragettes series, as well as shows in Alabama, California and Florida.
The single, “Broke to Brand New”, was released in January of 2022 and quickly became Shantaia’s first top 35 single, hitting 33 on the Mediabase Canadian Country charts. The rising star had an incredible 2022 Canadian Country Music week, participating in 2 CCMA sanctioned events, including being a finalist in SiriusXM Top of the Country with Josh Ross and Sacha. The highly anticipated concept album “Exes and Friends” dropped on February 24th 2023, garnering all kinds of attention with the media, and reaching 5 million streams total, scoring her Country Album of the Year with the SCMA awards in 2024. At the end of a great 2023 festival season, Shantaia was crowned as the Boots and Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase winner and on June 7th 2024, released the single she won through the competition with Universal Music Canada. “What I Wouldn’t Do” was penned with longtime collaborator Ryan Sorestad, and Grammy nominated writer and producer Curt Chambers, and is a departure into a new, smoldering sound for Shantaia that is turning heads worldwide while she carves a unique lane for herself. 2025 is already off to an incredible start, with the new single release "Faster Horses" on January 24th and a private show with John Mayer and many other legends in Anaheim, CA. She opened the She Rocks Awards sponsored by NAMM and has many exciting shows in the works. Shantaia has hinted at a full project, with a few single releases to waterfall throughout 2025!
